The Story of Tidal Threads

We aim to mitigate harmful seaweed species by repurposing it to create a highly functional, luxury clothing company.

40 to 70% of common seaweeds cause bleaching and death of coral tissue, limiting biodiversity in our oceans. These seaweed species release allelochemicals in order to defend themselves against other predators. However, these chemicals are detrimental to ocean life, which depletes coral reefs and worsens ecosystems worldwide. Tidal Threads is dedicated to reducing this harmful effect, using the

Tidal Threads has decided to take matters into its own hands by doing its part to preserve the oceans. We use a mixed blend of fibers made from combinations of high quality nylons, cottons and luxurious Sea-Cell fibers. The blends of our products have been certified by SmartFiber for the appropriate use and function of their Sea-Cell fibers.​
